Citizenship Initiative: Significant Women (in former Yugoslavia history)

On 11th of January at Public Library Josip Vošnjak Sl. Bistrica.

The purpose of the event is to maintain the memory of 15 outstanding women from the regions of the former Yugoslavia – women who have confirmed themselves in different areas of life as great people and enlightened women (writers, painters, scientists, musicians, teachers, heroines …): Luiza Pesjak, Ivana Kobilca, Ivana Brlić Mažuranić, Zofka Kveder, Lili Novy, Alma Karlin, Zinka Kunc-Milanov, Ita Rina, Mati Terezija, Zlata Bartl, Slava Klavora, Vesna Parun, Mira Stupica, Neža Maurer, Esma Redžepova.
To encourage today’s women (local and immigrant) to raise awareness of their own situation and to take more action for the benefit of all.
